As the founder and Managing Partner of the Exelis Group, Todd brings 25+ years of operating, investing and advisory experience to the team. He has spent his career building, growing and fixing businesses for institutional investors and family offices as well as independently (as an entrepreneur). At Exelis, Todd has created significant value for clients across numerous industries and situations by working as an advisor, consultant and interim operating executive.
Previously, Todd was CEO, North America for Plexe, a global fintech company and artificial intelligence (AI) powered, embedded lending platform focused on working capital solutions for small businesses. Earlier, Todd was a Director at a $1B+ family office (private investment group) focused on real estate, transportation, logistics and energy. Prior to that, Todd was a Director within Fidelity Investments' private equity and strategic investments group, Devonshire Investors, first on the investment side and later in operational roles for a Fidelity-owned, multi-billion-dollar industrial distribution company. Within the investment group, he played a key role in evaluating and developing new growth platforms and was charged with performance improvement within an international portfolio of 15+ operating companies. During his tenure with the operating business where Todd served as Director of both Market Development and Supply Chain Development, he helped grow a $500M portfolio company to $6B in revenue through the acquisition of key competitors, aided in the establishment of the Denver headquarters, and led transformation efforts across Corporate Development, Supply Chain and Market Development.
Earlier in his career, Todd was a founding member of two technology-related businesses. The first, a venture-backed fintech company that later became a $1B quantitative asset management firm. The second being a niche hardware and software company focused on international markets. He has also co-authored a successful book on investing called “The Market Gurus: Stock Investing Strategies You Can Use from Wall Street's Best.”
Todd holds an MBA Magna Cum Laude from Babson College, a Master of Science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Connecticut, where he was also a Division I athlete. Additionally, Todd completed an executive program in Supply Chain Strategy & Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
